The Forever Bloom Square
The Story Behind...
The Forever Bloom Square is a beautiful floral overlay crochet square designed in collaboration with Scheepjes and their beautiful new Terrazzo yarn. It has so many beautiful moody colors and is filled with sweet little speckles that makes it easy to combine and play around with. Love it!
Earlier this summer Scheepjes invited me to make a square design to celebrate Granny Square Day 2022 which is my favourite crochet day of the year! Of course my answer was yes and here is the result: the Forever Bloom Square!
Inspired by the ever changing seasons of the archipelago I’ve created three beautiful colorways for it: Autumn allure brings warm rustic notes that makes the perfect palette for autumn and Christmas projects. Then we have the cooler Winter in bloom with soft muted lilac and pink tones followed by our third one: Spring buds. For this one I draw inspiration from the magically blue and purple anemones that pops up from the newly awaken soil after their winter slumber.
All three absolutely beautiful in bloom..
The finished square will measure 20 cm x 20 cm slightly stretched yet unblocked. To make it you will need:
- 18 gram of Terrazzo Yarn by Scheepjes in various colors*
- A 4 mm hook
- Darning needle
- Scissor
*Feel free to play around with different yarn and weights, this make works with most types.
This highly textured and sweet square design makes a perfect base for such projects as pillows, crossbody bags, blankets and wallhangings. We can’t wait to see all beautiful makes so please remember to share your progress and makes with us:
